I got this shock today for my 86 FJ,my international are to have it rebuilt, good shock for the FJ?

It is better than the stock one for sure. If the rebuilding doesn't cost more than new one, go for it.
Question on a side note, 1100's shock fits to 1986 FJ 1200?

88/89 are a different length and the 92+ are also different length.
The glass is not half full, it was engineered with a 2X safety factor.

As from my earlier question on this topic: progressive if you don't have any emulators or valves. Straight rate ones if you have any of these installed.

I have had one on my 87 for over 20 years. I had it rebuilt once and had them install a longer preload adjuster line. The spring that came with the shock was to soft . I have an Eibach installed.
Good shock but I wish it had more adjustability

On my repair form I submitted.i requested a longer damper line.for ease of mounting
