I have always wanted to go to Australia, now i want to go even more. The wife says she has always wanted to go too, maybe one of these days we will have the funds to go check it out proper.

That's only a half-arsed scrawny little spider - probably an Avondale Spider from Auckland - like the ones they used in Arachnophobia. Totally harmless - just big long legs!
