Hi everyone, I just picked up a 1986 FJ a few days ago and wanted to introduce myself. I'm a fairly new rider, and the FJ is only my second bike. I upgraded from a 1987 Kawasaki EX500 and it's definitely quite the shock to say the least  . It's not in the best of shape, but she runs strong right now and only needs some minor work (some of which I'll be posting about shortly). It's easily the most fun I've had on a bike, and I really look forward to having her in tip-top shape for next riding season. Here are some pics of her when I got her:

And what I upgraded from:

Welcome to the forum! Look around the maintenance and modifications threads when you get to working on your new ride. Every issue that a FJ can have has been addressed and resolved.

The glass is not half full, it was engineered with a 2X safety factor.

Welcome to the forum :hi:

Country Joe gave some good advice. When unfamiliar with the bike and doing maintenance. It ends up easier and less expensive to ask questions or search the maintenance files before leaping in.

BTW, nice looking ambulance.  :good2:

Thanks a ton! It's definitely exciting to be in such a great community! It's unfortunate that the weather has been so random here, I would've loved to have gotten some riding in.
