New Old Stock = it was made a long time ago and someone discovered it buried on the back of a shelf somewhere.  Desirable if the part is no longer available.  Not so desirable if the part is still manufactured - especially if running improvements have been made to the part over time.  I discovered this past week that most all (maybe all?) of the Yamaha parts sold by RPM are made to order by Yamaha - I always figured they were pulling from old stock.
