I installed a SuperSprox Hybrid rear sprocket today (aluminum center, steel teeth). With the main riding season over for the year and there are no long distance riding plans. This sprocket is 42 tooth and I removed the 19 tooth front and replaced it with a 17 tooth sprocket.

Looks great Fred but other than looks what are the other advantages? Weight? Price? Longevity?

Dave
A pistol is like a parachute, if you need one and don't have one you will never need one again.

Nice looking sprocket.

19T C/S? I didn't know it was an option.

How many teeth were you running before on the back with the 19T front?

Very low gearing for a monster motor. Just want to see how high a gear you can do a power wheelie. I added a link so My wheel is All the way back in the swingarm. And wish I could go higher than the 18/42 I have. Way too low gearing for me with 18/42.  I think your going to find first gear is really short with that gearing. :sarcastic:

I don't know if there are any advantages.....longevity wise, we will have to wait and see. The documentation states that the teeth are hardened and have 3 times the wear of aluminum alloy sprockets. The weight difference is about 1/2 ounce less than a solid steel 38 tooth. It may be 3/4 of an ounce lighter than a full steel 42 tooth sprocket. Price is $99 and change delivered.

The 19t sprocket I found on eBay. I think it is a one off custom size. I have been using the 18/38 combo for a few years and found the 19t front to use on my long 1000 mile plus rides.

Dan, my 18t sprocket is still in great shape and will be installed if I don't like the 17t sprocket.
