I am enjoying watching this build, creative....
The glass is not half full, it was engineered with a 2X safety factor.

'86 Ambulance - Bent frame, cracked case, due for an overhaul
'89 Stormy Blue - Suits my Dark Side

Cash Dereszynski

Yeah, street fighters! Show up at the west Coast Rally so I'm not the only one.

Cash
Fuck it,let's ride.

Wondering if you thought of burnishing the Aluminuminum instead of painting it - like this Swirl Pattern  Not that I want to give you more work....

I don't think I will be able too, long way from here and hard to find time. Bike looks great, always like the black and red combo.

If you can't make the rally then send some really good photos, Cash can print some full size images and place them next to his FJ for the photos. Or he might just Photoshop them in...

Cool idea, I was thinking to do just black and aluminum for the color scheme, but did a bike a couple years ago like that. So I thought with this one to get a bit of bright color in there.

Will take some better shots outside, just haven't got to that yet. Was trying to get the seat and front fender done first.

When I see an FJ with no side scoops, I wonder about the lack of cooling air on the head.  Overheat?  I notice that Cash retained his scoops...    :unknown:

All the aircooled bikes before had no scoops, they are only there because of the fairings, without fairings there is plenty of airflow around engine.

I love your approach with the subframe. i plan to do something very similar for a supermoto build im collecting parts for to build around a raptor 660 engine. You have any other plans for this bike?

How many were 4 valve heads that need additional cooling down in the head?  Where do 4 valve heads show damage when overheated?  Pitting and cracking between the exhaust valve seats...

Just a bit of trivia, I believe the centre cylinders on the FJ's (with scoops) run cooler than the outboard ones.

Hey brother, what's up?!

So, I'm starting to buy some parts already for my street fighter also. Already bought headlights, taillight, turning signals, air filter pods, new jets for the carburetors, mirrors and some other pieces...

I'm now thinking about the instruments panel. Do you think something like this would work?

I'm not sure how the "digital part" of those panels would "talk" to the FJ...do you know if it's possible to make them fully functional?

Thanks!
Cheers!

Digital instrument tach in stock and works with the FJ. There are several other options as well which will offer you a speedo option as well.

Look here and if you are interested in any of them, let me know I can usually have it in my hand the next day. http://www.wpsorders.com/wpsonline/o2CATLG4.pgm?PAGENO=649&CICID=ST

Well have not been on here for a while, selling the FJ Streetfighter shortly. Would post pics with a few more changes I did but this whole Photobucket thing with upgrading is too annoying . Got to be a better way for forums to upload pics.
