Sprocket size help for 85 1100

I'm needing help find right sprocket sizes for low end power on my 85 fj1100 with stock 16's

Stock on my '84 was 17/42
They sell a 16 tooth counter shaft sprocket. They also sell a 44 or 46 tooth rear sprocket

How low do you want to go, and why?

17/41 was standard on my 85 (European model).

I would NOT go any lower on the front sprocket or any higher on the rear. Makes it uncomfortable at low speeds/acceleration.

Put a 16 0n mine but because I have a Suzuki back wheel I actually had to get the back sprocket made locally as I could not find a low enough tooth number ANYWHERE back then.

Lez, do you have a 5bolt rear sprocket or 6bolt for your Suzuki wheel.  How many teeth did you go to? And what did they charge you to have them made? Also are you going to have any more made in the near future?  OK done with the questions.

Well, the FJ is not really a wheelie machine.. 

It simply too heavy with a weight distribution that isn't optimal for wheelies. You can of course do wheelies on it, but there are other bikes that are MUCH better at that.

I have in stock, for just your request as well as many others, 15 & 16t front sprockets. I am still surprised how many of these I sell annually, there is a whole bunch of guys that like to ride wheelies.

I have the 5 bolt and the sprocket is 46 or there abouts. It was a dollar a tooth.. was not thinking of having more made only thing is the material is aluminum and was assured if I kept it lubed at ALL times there would be no problem so far they have been right.

Oil has no influence on the strength of aluminum versus steel.
