Wanted to get a tad better sound out of the bike plus lose the 1970 looking mufflers so I got a set of Delkevic SS 70's and put them on today. Overall with the baffles in, it has a tad better growl, its a bit lighter and it actually gave it a small amount of added power. I like the modern looks plus I enjoy working on my bike so I was looking forward to messing with them when they arrived today.
Yamahas from my past,
IT465, IT200, YZ80. 350Warrior, Kodiak400, Kodiak450,
Various others include

Currently ride
FJ 1200 , DRZ400, Yamaha Viking, Suzuki Samurai dirt mobile

Those mufflers take about 5000kms to find their voice. When they're new they are very quiet and the baffles in or out does not make a lot of difference but over time will develop a nice sound. Once broken in the sound level remains constant thereafter.

Thanks for the info Noel. I never removed the baffle so I'm not really sure whats inside them, it smelled a bit like fiberglass but I'm not saying that's whats in them. I look forward to breaking them in and hearing the sounds change for the better. To me it now has that sport bike sound I was looking for, after my ride today I was really digging them, glad I did it.
