I have been fighting with my rusty tank since i bought my fj and have come to realize i am better to replace than to keep going with it.  It has pinholes all over the top and crusty rust everywhere else.

Looking for any tank that will bolt on and get me back on the road.

Thanks in advance.

At the moment gas tanks seem to be scarce.  :ireful:

I did find a couple overseas. One is for a 1986 model, you don't want that one. Gravity fed with a different petcock. The 1989 and later tanks will work.

This one ships worldwide.

You can have your tank professionally repaired but that will mean down time for the bike. I have a spare tank but it is not a bolt-on ready tank. The paint was stripped and the inside was coated. The quality of the coat is unknown. I bought the tank to keep it out of the scrap bin. However, you could have this tank sent for repair and paint while you can still ride your FJ. If interested I can send a few pictures and we can talk about price. Send a PM if interested.

I have a spare tank for my 90 model, its black with the blue and red stripe. It has a dent in the top off to one of the corners but its still completely usable. It does not have the fuel guage ,petcock or cap. Inside was clean metal when I last looked, might have some suface rust here and there.

I appreciate the replies. My tank is past being able to repair the entire top is riddled with pin holes and about a third of the original gauge.

If you could pm me with the price you need for them i would appreciate it.

does anyone know if an 1100 tank will fit on the 1200?  Not sure how much was changed frame wise. Not too worried about looks. Just see a few older tanks on ebay and think if they fit in the mount i can modify as necessary to get my petcock and sender installed.

The 1100 tanks will fit straight on. The main difference is the petcock. The 1100 and early 1200's were gravity fed. They have a larger diameter fuel line so you will have to fit some kind of adaptor to suit the fuel outlet. The petcock is also vacuum operated so you will have to run the tap in the prime position or fit another vacuum hose to a carb manifold to open the fuel diaphragm.
   Regards, Pete.

appreciate the reply. I am thinking of adapting my petcock to the tank to avoid issues with fueling through the 1100 version.
