That's a weekend I won't be able to get out unfortunately. My work cuts across the day and evening hours too so no zipping over for a quick visit before or after.
If someone wants to see any images I refer to in posts, first check my gallery here. If no bueno, send me a PM. More than glad to share.

Welll.... there's a Haliburton Loop.  Here there is the Baked & Battered Cottage Bakery & Fish Fry in case you start feeling peckish.  Then there is a Muskoka Loop, where there is a pub The Mill On Main in Huntsville which could be used for a pit stop to refresh if needs be.

Both of these are +/- 6hrs.  You would waste a good 2 hrs just getting there/back to the actual ride.  These are the max distance I figured could be covered, and can be chopped to suit a shorter stint depending on how early people can meet up.  Also alternative refreshment stands can be sourced.  I have done basically both of these before, and I'm sure many of you have done these roads also.  Hope this helps.   :drinks:

I am a more than probable attendee - should get permission from the "GM" in a day or so. Just bought her a dress today so quid pro quo is in order.   :praising:  Thought I'd wait a bit as she got rag-dolled by a German Shepherd at the dog park tonight.  Got blind sided as it was chasing other dogs and knocked her legs right out and landed on her shoulder and knocked the wind out of her.  Actually heard a "thwump" when she hit the ground.   :shok:  She may have pinched a nerve in her shoulder, but we'll know better in the morning.

The more I type the more I wanna goooooooo!   :good2:

I paired down the loops to reduce the time needed.  The Haliburton.02  is shortened by about 1 hr to about 5hrs.  Minden has plenty of places for a pit stop or even just a Tim's.  I would recommend a clockwise route because the 404N ends on #48 at Keswick and the backlog can stretch back quite a ways if the traffic is heavier than usual.

The Muskoka.02 route is shortened by about 30min to around 5hrs.  Rosseau has a few places to replenish if needed.

These are based on Google times, which I have found to be conservative estimates usually.    Both of these routes require about an hour to get there/back with about a 2-3hr tour while there, excluding any rest stops, or photo ops.  I haven't bothered looking west of Hwy 400 as all the roads are just a grid pattern.  Any other suggestions are welcome, or places to munch, etc.

A bit of a curve ball....but I thought it is an excellent pitch !!!! How about doing a Haliburton Loop and ending up in Muskoka...Gravenhurst more specifically.......I thought since Kim Mitchell is playing at the Key that Saturday night (the 23rd)......would be a slight change but we could hit the habour front motel in Gravenhurst after the ride and then cab or ride into Bala (15 minutes away) and catch the show.......we could also do a Seguin Early dinner cruise after the ride.......just a thought....... :mail1:.......be a heck of a weekend....that dinner cruise is awesome !!

OK.......not everyone is a huge Kim Mitchel fan like me  :flag_of_truce: ......so we will stick with the original plan  :good2:......we can decide on the route when we meet up..... :mail1:

Sorry. Didn't get an email notice when you posted re concert, and didn't check the post until yesterday. Been on the couch for 3 days with a cold in July!   Wouldn't mind seeing Kim Mitchell, haven't seen him live since c1986? But not in the cards this summer.

I've done the steamship cruise before in the fall.  That might be something to combine with a fall ride up that way later this year.  I know the wife would want to go.

Hi Bob......Plan A was my place at 9 and then out for a rip........then back here for a swim and a BBQ and Campfire.......then I thought  :mail1:  Kim Mitchel at the KEE......plan B was to stay over in Gravenhurst and catch the concert in Bala....then back home the next day......in a nut shell...... .........but Plan A looks easier and lighter on the wallet..... :i_am_so_happy:

Whatever plan you decide is fine by me.  I will just be in it for mostly the ride, and hanging out for a little while later, wherever that will end up being.  I have to eventually end up going home that night anyways due to my work schedule.   :cray:

Yeah, what a wuss!   :empathy:
