A friend of mine who rides a FZ1 and is a high mileage rider was one of 10 riders selected to do a long term test and was sent a set of the New Metzler RoadTec 01 Sport Touring tires. The tread pattern looks like they will perform exceptionally well in the rain.

If they're anywhere near as good as the Roadtec Z8's, I'll  definitely be buying some.  :good2:

My last tyres were Z8 GT's, after 4 consecutive sets if Conti RA2 GT's, and I loved them. I put a set of Michelin PR4's on just before the rally and they now have about 5000km's of pretty much nothing but corners on them.
I'm surprised at how little they've worn and how how cool they stay. They run at much lower temps than any of the previous tyres.

I'm also surprised at how many "moments" I've had on them and will not be fitting another set (if I ever wear them out!)
I'm with you Pete, unless I hear anything bad about them, they will be next.

I'm not sure about now, but at rally time the new tyres were already warehoused in Oz and just waiting for the Z8 stock to sell out before releasing them.
