A few years ago I was involved with an Old Timer forum. We had a photo challenge thread that was very popular. The way it works is very simple. One of the admins issues the initial challenge such as a fire truck in front of a fire house. You then take a photo of it with your bike in front of it and post it. You then issue the next challenge. If after a period time (I think we used 2 weeks) the challenge is not met then the challenger issues a new one. We kept them simple so that almost anyone could find the object. It wouldn't be fair if I challenged you to find a castle but a historic building would be fine. Just a thought.

These types of rally's can be pretty fun - There's a group of riders near me who do a similar thing but it's contained within a couple hundred mile radius.  With your example of the fire truck in front of a fire house, would the next individual take a photo of *any* fire truck in front of *any* fire house, or does it need to be that exact monument?

I say run with it, get some ideas and rules etc... and kick it off in the "Join Me For a Ride!" section - castle and all!

I see. The photo requirements are generic enough that you can find the subject locally, but your bike has to be in the picture to count. (NO PHOTOSHOPPING!)

So, where do I send the Polaroids?

We kept them simple like lighthouse, harbor, military installation, Etc. The idea was to see how quick you could get the photo and post it. It should also be something that a lot of people could find. The hardest one I remember was to find a second generation Corvette. Those things are hard to find and the challenge was won by a guy that owned one. He was almost disqualified for not having his car in the photo until he explained that he owned the Corvette.

Since it seems like nobody else is going to, I'll throw out the first challenge. Your FJ in front of a statue of a horse. :hi:

If you are the first to post the photo, you issue the next one.

The Man from Snowy River no less.

OK, my turn. A picture of your FJ in your garage with a scale Bugatti type 35 with an FJ 1200 motor sitting in it, flanked by a shop mannequin dressed in bike leathers and wearing a Pith helmet.

....and the FJ!

Well Doug, you've ruined my next post and you did forget one other thing - the FJ!

...and the "Western" model I'm working on in the foreground.

Technically, you win and you don't, you posted the photos (where the hell do you guys find these things) but it wasn't your FJ so I'm claiming my right to post the next quest, but hey, you can never have too many FJ photos. I say the next guy needs to come up with both.

My suggestion for the next photo is a silhouette of your FJ against a beautiful sunset.

Ok, it's ancient old, it's new to you, I borrowed it , and it's either blue or red, I'm leaning towards red.

Does an American Buffalo come close enough to a Camel to count?
