I booked the week off just so I could be there.   :yahoo:  And I'll actually be able to sleep the night before.  Now, if I get her on the road by then....  :empathy3:  I would like to volunteer my bike for a valve clearance check.  Haven't had one done in a while and I'd like to learn the procedure as I've paid to have it done previuosly.   I'm assuming you have the proper tools for it? (cuz I don't)  I'll also bring my Motion Pro carb synch tool for anyone else to use (probably including me).

See ya then   :good2:

Your engine will have to be stone cold to measure your valve clearances, so your fj will have to sit overnight. (have your FJ stay over night at JVs?)

If we dont have a needed shim on hand, we will have to order one or find one nearby. So ... there would be a good chance that we would be able to finish the measurements and determine the required shims, ... but then have to wait for the new shim(s) to arrive to complete the adjustments.

We could do the measurements to find out what you need and install them at a later date, if you like... it would mean buttoning back up the engine after doing the measurements so you could ride the bike until then.  If we had the needed shims on hand we would throw them in, of course, and you would be good to go. You should have new bolt grommets and valve cover gasket to put on after finishing... if your current ones are fairly old.  :good:

The shims i have are mostly the larger unpopular ones now, so i wouldnt bank on me having the required ones ...but I will bring what tools and shims i have.

Looking forward to shooting the breeze and throwing some more wrenches.
:good2:  and a ride too??

DOH!     Okay so maybe we won't do a valve clearance check.  I do have new valve cover grommets from RPM still in the bag.  I'm sure I can think of something that will sprawl parts all over Johann's Garage....
