Since our dollar is tanked against the mighty green back it does not pay well to order tools south of the border. I am looking for a supplier up here in Ont. that has them for sale in stock or ordered that does not cost a fortune. Not interested in making a backyard unit. I have been reading up on the two main ones(motionpro and carbtune) and there is also the four vacuum gauge type. I have read good things about the vacuum gauge type if you have inline control valves that stop the needles from bouncing like crazy, no fluid to add and can be set up to work on anything really. So is there a place I can order one of these in Ontario somewhere, and what do you fellas think of the gauge style vacuum carb sync tool. Input much appreciated thanks. Princess Auto does not sell a carb sync tool either.

Six of one, half dozen of the other.
I've had a 4 gauge unit purchased from JCWhitney for $15 for decades and it works just fine.
I recently bought a rod type unit and it also works just fine but is a bit more rugged.
I have used a home built manometer with plastic tubing and ATF for the fluid and it works just fine but is likely to get the tubing tangled up occasionally.
One is just as accurate as the other.  Remember you're not looking for a specific value, just that you want the SAME amount of vacuum on each cylinder.
If money is tight, make it yourself.  Buy a fancier looking one later (if at all).

Last year I bought carbtune/colourtune combo from Morgan for a very modest price.
Yes I live below the 49th parallel, but wonder how the Canadian $ has held up vs. the pound?
If you order from England directly, would they be too expensive?
The combo let me fine tune my XJ900 beyond my expectations.

I bought a Motion Pro last year (still in the package), but will be cracking it open soon for another carb rebuild (new floats).  You should be able to buy it through any bike shop or through ebay or through these guys.  Some of the Ontario guys have the same one and works great.  If you can spare the $150.  Last year I could....

Hmmmmmm.... maybe a good time to schedule a spring carb clinic for Ontario members?  That way I wouldn't butcher my new floats!   :dash2:
