I haven't been too active on the forum in a while. It's been a busy winter, I guess. Most recently I had to get a realignment (of sorts) done. Been having ongoing issues with my right knee and 3 1/2 years ago I had it scoped for a "buff and polish" which seemed to do the trick until last summer when it flared up again. Turns out the root cause of the problem is my being somewhat bow-legged. Too much time on the FJ, I suppose. The solution - a procedure known as a high tibial osteotomy  (HTO). I went under the knife 4 weeks ago and am on the road to recovery. I should be ready in time for riding season!

Here's what an 11 degree correction looks like:

Should be off crutches in a few weeks.

Yeah, well get better soon.
Thanks for not posting any pics of the surgery as it happened.
Some of us have delicate stomachs :-)
Great to hear that you'll be ready to ride when the snow and ice is gone.

Just had my 3-month follow-up with the surgeon and so far so good! Been crutch-free for a while now and been riding the FJ for a few weeks already. Told to keep stretching, exercising and cycling but nothing high impact yet. That's OK with me. Bone is filling in nicely:
