Replacing a couple gaskets, with K&L brand.  Randy has graphite impregnated gaskets.  I doubt these are. Should I wet the gasket with gas before I install?
I want to avoid having to go back and retighten the screws after putting it together and putting gas in.

Bowl gasket? Why would you think that is important? Not being critical, just asking cuz its just a gasket. Just assemble and ride dude.....
The glass is not half full, it was engineered with a 2X safety factor.

The K&L gasket is a layered paper gasket that seals fine the first time.

The biggest issue is when you go to remove the bowls next time...there will be gasket stuck to both surfaces. I have spent many hours scraping those gaskets off over the years.

That is why I only use, sell and recommend the genuine Yamaha gaskets listed on my website: Float Bowl Gasket

I have plenty, I just got 1000 in yesterday. :yahoo:

Monkey- nothing I hate worse than cleaning, assembling and riding only to find I have a leak and need to redo.  Now that I think about it, that is an oil gasket issue mainly. Didn't know if once the gasket got wet if it then needed a little more tightening. I don't want to have to take tank off and carbs out a second time.

Thanks Randy.
