Ive a 92 FJ1200 and I have a big gut, Gas tank is too large, want to convert to a more streamlined tank, cosmetics not important (side fairings etc...). Any ideas?

You may not have any options for a smaller tank, but some bar risers from RPM might help. It raises the riding position up just a tad. The product looks well made and have good reviews from riders that use them.

The glass is not half full, it was engineered with a 2X safety factor.

Yep, short of having a custom tank made or your FJ tank modified, you are stuck the FJ tank.

I know of no other alternative that fits.

Monkey is on the right track, raise your bars. Consider a handle bar conversion for more options on bar height.

Visit the RPM folks. They have what you need.

Consider a seat made to move you back from the tank. Not too far. The best place for your weight on the FJ is as close to the tank as you can get. Moving your weight away from the tank changes the balance of the bike. It takes load off the front tire and adds it to the rear. We have found that our FJ's handle better with the front tire loaded, thus all the folks who have shortened the dog bones and raised their rear ends, to get more load on the front.

Cheers and welcome. Head over to the intro. Section and tell us about you.   Pat

I'm guessing that this might be a bit too small?

Depends on how far you want to go... :pardon:
