I played hooky from work today (currently self employed) to sneak in a ride on the Crest before the weather pissed down (rain & snow) tomorrow. My last chance to ride this year due to holiday travel and other commitments. The weather today was fantastic, quite cold for Kalifornia standards, 60F at 1900 feet, burrr. But I had my heated vest (did not need it) and grip warmers, very nice. The Crest was mostly clear and free sailing, er.... riding. Till I ran into a few icy spots like this.

Newcomb's Ranch was light, but it was Friday when many are at work. But a good showing considering the icy conditions.

Happy holidays everyone....

Any day riding is better than working. With my new work schedule I played hooky on Tuesday and went riding. Raining this weekend as well. Sucks that the weather was clear all week and is gonna screw up my weekend plans.

What's been a gift here in New England so far this fall and winter, is that we are not that much affected by usual weather, and riding is still possible. Xmas day is supposed to be very warm and if the roads dry off some from the rain scheduled today and tomorrow, there will be plenty of local Santas playing hooky after morning celebrations.

Best holiday and New Year's wishes to all!
