I'm buying a lotto ticket

I thought my luck had changed.
9 weeks ago I thought I'd finally beaten the weather odds.
Then I was advised I needed a very common operation which would put one arm in a sling for six weeks.
In the time before the operation I had no good riding weather days. Ah well I thought, I'll enjoy a ride all the more later.
Since the operation we've not had one drop of rain (dead garden, crunchy grass).
I get the sling off tomorrow.................you can guess...
So tomorrow I'm buying a f!@king lotto ticket, cause my luck must be elsewhere right now!

It was the forecast for today that got me  :ireful:.
The silver lining is, all going well, I get the sling off & will hopefully get some decent sleep!

Other silver lining is you do have a Bike that will still start no matter how long you leave it for.
At least the roads will be clean after the rain, I don't mind a wet ride when you have the right gear with you

Good to see sling is off and everything is still working.

I don't think that lotto thing works, I've tried it...too many times

With the dry we're having the 'best' fly season ever  :sarcastic:, anyone need some flies?

How come, with this severe "DRY", the flies still splatter so wetly all over your visor and every other part of the bike you hit them with?

Where do think the water went?
The glass is not half full, it was engineered with a 2X safety factor.

'86 Ambulance - Bent frame, cracked case, due for an overhaul
'89 Stormy Blue - Suits my Dark Side

Arnie

Ok, there's not THAT many flies to account for the lack of water.

I think most of the missing water has gone to India, South America, and Washington.
Wish they'd send some of it back.

Troyskie

Just realised I broke a personal rule about not complaining about the rain.  :dash1:
We can so rarely rely on it, & in our 'Sunburnt country' we generally need every drop.
Having said that, 144mm or over 5 & 1/2 inches of rain in an hour nicely filled my rain water tanks a few hours ago.
I sure those of you in Cali going through a drought can understand.
Having just returned from the doc's I've also realised I can't move my arm enough yet to be able to actually go for a ride. :flag_of_truce:
Ah well, felt good to have a little vent.

Troyskie,

For good sleep with a damaged wing, try an upholstered reclining chair with leg support (Lazy-Boy, in the USA).  Put as many blankets on the chair under you as you will have over you, to sleep well.

Cheers,

P.S. Life is too short, and health is too valuable, to ride on cheap parade-duty tires.

Troyskie

Top suggestion Red.
Some friends actually told me to hire one of these, however the suggestion of lots-o-blankets under corpse is a really good idea.
Pete, I did some fly splatting on the visor, despite my lack of flex (10 minute test trek).
If I don't fang-it, just cruise and ignore the f/wits, I reckon a few beers at yours would ease the aches & get me ready for a return trip. Assuming I can take advantage and do overnighting on a lounge.
I also discovered that left turns (left wing) are not really that easy if I'm having a Casey Stoner moment.
It would probably be best this time of year given the number of wankers from Sydney/Canberra/Melbourne (well I suppose I do qualify as one of those given I've only been out of the city a few years now), and Plod Revenue Raisers, that I wait till the dust has settle some before heading down.
I could also sample some of the local fair, AND (if we can convince the other Peter to bring his FJ), we could do a Bermagui FJ line-up as a warm-up for the rally!

You're welcome anytime mate. It just so happens that I have a great recliner that puts me to sleep almost every afternoon.
There's some great rides to be had down here but don't tell anyone.
