I just joined the forum. It's real good to see so many FJ fans!  :good2:
I own a FJ1200 3CV, which is a grey import in South Africa. My FJ used to be really neat, before I had a big off with it. Luckily I was relatively fine, the bike wasn't!

I then stripped the bike down to the bare bones and started rebuilding it from the ground up. At this stage the frame is assembled with the forks, swingarm, wheels, motor, subframe and rear wheel arch fitted. I must now sort out some wiring and fit the carbs and exhaust to be able to start it up.
To complete this project and restore my FJ to its former glory, I still require a fairing, front frame and clip on bars. I will really appreciate it if anybody can help me find these items. Since it is a grey import, body parts for this model are just not available in SA.

I'd like to post some pics of my project, but I don't know how!  :unknown:  So if anybody could explain to me how to do it, please do!   :good:

Cheers

Gooday K and welcome.
Bits and pieces are always coming up for sale here.
Keep an eye out.
I've often been asked, 'What do you old folks do now that you're retired'?

"Well. I'm fortunate to have a chemical engineering background, and one of the things I enjoy most is turning beer, wine, Scotch, and margaritas into urine."

Hi Kaalman, it is not quite true that parts are unobtainable in SA.
Try Danie at Randburg motorcycles, or N&R in Robertsham. They are stripping an Fj now.
Alternatively the guys at bikesparesonline in Midrand offered me a full FJ fairing but this was a year ago.

Hi I have 1989 F1200 stripped down, I damaged the conrod and found it too expensive too fix. Brought another FJ1200 1990. I still have everything from the 89' I say to my wife that I keep it for spares parts. the colour scheme is the white with red and grey alternatives. is this what your looking for ??

P.s Welcome to the sight

Peter, I have the front sub-frame from a '90 here if you are interested. I can't guarantee how straight it is as it comes off a parts bike I bought a while back which had been dropped on the rhs, wrecking the fairing and a few other parts to boot.

Its yours for the cost of postage if you are interested.

FJZ1 1200 - It'll do me just fine.
