Found a leak

My oil light came on. Now, I am pretty sure this FJ isn't burning any,  and I know I fixed the valve cover leak months ago, so I went looking.

Found it. Left side of oil cooler is wet.

It's not a big leak, as it took all summer for this to leak enough to light the warning light. Not sure if the cooler is cracked, or if the fitting is leaking. I should probably look into funding a cooler upgrade kit...

Yeah, that would be nice.

Don't have that much laying around, though. Maybe in a few months. It is a slow leak...

I understand, I had a slow leak for may years. Slowed it down with a new starter O-Ring, then discovered the crack in the case..... That is why my '86 is a pending frame up rebuild... When the funds can support it.....

Might be as simple as replacing the o-ring that lives in the fitting.

Oops... sorry Randy... Yes, you need a new oil cooler!

Heck yeah, a couple of o-rings is going to be cheaper no matter what, but since Monkey brought up the RPM oil cooler I just wanted to remind everyone reading there is a sale coming up.

Sorry, I do not stock that o-ring at the cooler and have never had a request for one either.

I am starting to think I should have replaced the valve cover gasket along with the donuts. I found a tiny drip while messing with carbs last night.

Still want that nice cooler, though...
