Well it's pretty much done she's ready for a serious cyn blast tomorrow will get some video to boot.
So I just did the forks and the left stanchion was missing the spacer unbelievable. Any way went OG on it with some pvc. New ATF and the pvc spacers are holding, front end feels really really good now.

So since I got the bike I've done the steering head bearings, replaced all friction plates along with a new OEM spring and the clutch mod. All fluids and brakes are fresh new 3D Storm and new front AV45 and a new D.I.D chain.
Fixed petcock fuel barb, used EARLS fuel fittings for the fuel barbs on the carbs and re routed the fuel line. By passed kick switch. Got the tires on sale at Chaparral the 3d's were 135.00 the AV's were 103.00. So tomorrow will be the serious run.

All for a $500 investment....good for you. Keep an eye on those aluminum rivets holding the cans on the Cobra F-1 slip ons.

The FJ motors pump out a lot of air when in the kookaloo zone and coupled with heat expanding the aluminum cans, those soft rivets will pop out.
Consider drilling them out and replacing them with 3/16" steel rivets.

Enjoy your ride. Be careful, get used to her. She's a big girl, but she can polka.

Remember to skuff in the new tires gently at first. Get the mold release worn off and some heat going before you give the girl her running legs. Have fun, be safe...
The glass is not half full, it was engineered with a 2X safety factor.

'86 Ambulance - Bent frame, cracked case, due for an overhaul
'89 Stormy Blue - Suits my Dark Side

Thanks Pat, with the forks done it should track a lot better. I had a lot of bikes late from 80's to 2k Raced D37 and ran RZ 350's in the cyns and TZR's at the track.
Yup the left can lost one as you can see in the pic I did a temp fix.

Thanks FJmonkey, tires were broken in last Monday/Sat in the cyns along with the new chain testing is done my new helmet just showed up got a Shoei  X-Twelve for 419.00. :yahoo:

Well she handles like a dream the new helmet is super comfy after trimming some of the cheek and neck foam out you don't rip your ears off anymore. Too much Cal Trans road work going on but Piuma was clear as day. No more bottoming out when hard braking on the down hills. Sorry but the video didn't come out I just taped my old phone to the passenger peg and all I got was tarmac. So... I will have to fab up a bracket no Go Pros here folks sorry.

Thanks to the forum also for all the hot tips. :good2:

Nice lid. Glad you are enjoying the FJ. Kokaloo.

FJmonkey

I am still waiting for some parts to arrive before I stuff my cluster back on. Once my LEDs show up and I get a few moments to wrench the bits back on then we can ride. Happy to hear it was only a minor flesh wound.

Well that really sucks...

Just got off the phone with Avon and it seems they cover the tire for road hazard for the 1st mm of tread wear. Told him I put on about 200 miles and he said your good. So... off to Chaparral to get a replacement tire 1:30 min drive will wait for traffic to die down before I hit the road.

Ok, that sucks much less. Since you are taking the 210 you could swing by for a visit. My place is only a mile off the 210.

Mark that sounds like a plan. I'm getting the run around with Chaparral I'll let you know if and when they will accept the exchange. May have to deal with Avon direct.
