Just back after a long absence and couldn't believe the pain in the ass over lost passwords, jesus, its a bike forum, not a bank. its easier to get into my bank account.  Upper and lower case, numbers, symbols, first born male child, what next?

its more about keeping spammers and scammers out than pissing off actual forum members.

Without a couple layers of proof, every forum on the internet would be over run with advertising for everything from "giveaway" cruises to porn site invitations. There's everything from "bots" to Nigerian teams trying to break into forums these days.

Necessary evil these days. Even with a couple layers, they still manage to get through sometimes.

People are desperate to make a buck these days and don't care who (or what) they step on to get it.....

Happens to me every single time. Has for a long time. I'm just used to it; no biggie.
