Friday of last week, I gave my seat to the gentleman who does all the upholstery and seat repairs for our County equipment. (Jim Young)
He's a soft-spoken, very nice older man, who never asks for much money.
I explained to him how I wanted it done, and that I wanted about an inch of the stiffest foam he had added to the seating surfaces.

He brought it back to me today at work, all finished. I couldn't be happier!  :yahoo:

He showed me samples of the foam he used. An inch thick, very stiff layer, with a 1/4-inch layer of memory-foam on top of that.
I feel that it turned out very nice.

He also took the time to stitch up my favorite pair of leather gloves. (The Velcro closure tab was coming unstitched, and falling off)  :good2:

This guy amazes me! He told me he only wanted money for the materials that he used, which amounted to around $24.
I gave him $100, and told him I would gladly pay him more even. He had a hard time accepting the $100, but I insisted that I wasn't taking any of it back.
I feel I got quite a bargain, as I know how much Corbin gets to re-do one of their seats.   :good:

Did your original seat have screws to hold the covering on or was that one of his repair items?   (I haven't noticed on corbins before...)

The original cover was "Pop-riveted" onto the base.
He had to drill out the rivets.
