Surge/bucking fix

For the last month or so I've been fighting a surge/buck that I thought for sure was carb related. I had also noticed that I'd already worn down the Metzlers that were on the FJ when I bought it 6k ago in April. So I ordered a set of Avon's and decided while it was apart I'd go ahead and do the chain and sprockets, as the chain was noisy as hell and had stretched bad enough once already that it had skipped a few times. After all was said and done and my wallet considerably lighter, I was very happy to find that the chain was so bad, it is what was causing the surge and bucking. Needless to say the FJ is much smoother and quieter. Now it's time to get it cleaned lol...

Yeah, that's what I thought too! I was going to try to get by for the rest of the season, but I plan on a ride up to Duluth MN next month and the last thing I want is to have it break down on me. So better safe than sorry...

No doubt. When I ordered the parts, the guy was telling me that a customer had been in to order a chain for his 'Busa. When he was told he really should replace the sprockets too, he said no and went off to eBay for a China chain. Apparently he was back in a few weeks later looking for an engine block as the new chain on old sprockets was quickly found out to be a bad idea.

I just would have never imagined that a chain would get so bad that it mimicked a fuel delivery issue.
