Dash/Cluster Lights

Decided to tackle the burned out cluster light bulbs.  6 screws to take off the front fairing.  Not to bad.  Then 2 bolts to remove the cluster.  Headed over to the local auto supply store hoping they would have the right bulbs and they did!   My headlight was working but I decided to replace that as well with the Silverstar.  I didn't want Murphy's law to come into play 2 days later after I got everything all back together.  

The best part is since I had the cluster out I decided to remove the clear cover and get my gas needle on the correct side.  A slight push of the needle and it flipped over.  I again have a working gas gage!!!!!!

Ahh, I envy you.
My dash bulbs all burned out suddenly. Or maybe a bad connector because it is unusual for multiple bulbs to burn out all in the same time. And I have to remove all that also, but can't make myself doing it.

That is on my list to ... for the same reasons. Dash light and fuel gauge needle. Glad to know it isn't too painful.

Jeff, you can also install LED's (except the low fuel light). Something to consider.

Great job Todd, when I did mine a few years ago after them continually going out, from what I believe is vibration I installed these LED bulbs.

I didn't completely remove the clear plastic cover to access the gas gage because the odometer button was in the way.  I was just able to open the clear cover to get at the gas gage and make it flip over.  

BTW all the cluster lights were original.  Not a bad lifetime for 30 years - yes low milage tho.
