I wish you lived away from the city, I would be scared shitless riding accross on the 401 to get there. I would also be scared of my temper when assholes cut me off and throw there ciggeret butts out there window into my path, plain morons that do that, I wonder how many forest fires are caused by jerkoffs that throw there butts out there window cause there car is to clean and pretty for there butts. I dont have patients or a cool head to get there dealing with that much traffic. It just happened yesturday, I was following behind a cage and the guy held his butt out the window for a count of five seconds or so as to think he was being sneeky, he let it go and it hit my helmet, I rolled on the throttle and went around him and flashed him the loser hand sign big L. I have a reaction to this when I drive, if someone throws there butt out the window, the hammer goes down and I pass agressive and close to piss them off. I am sorry but its one of those things that make me snap. Losers throw cig butts out windows.

Gumby,

While I agree wholeheartedly with your attitude, riding unsafely as you've described is....UNsafe.  Not only may you misjudge how close you pass the idiot in the car, but by enraging them you might just be tagged back :-(
As I said, I do agree with you and have seen drivers drop lit cigarette butts out of their window while stopped at red lights on days of "Total Fire Ban" (this part of Australia burns frequently).  I'm tall, and fairly flexible so I was able to bend over, pick up the butt, and toss it back into the smoker's car saying, "I think you dropped this" and ride away.  That gave me enough time to safely ride away before he could even try to come after me :-)  Of course, it is also very rare that any driver here is carrying a gun.

Just want to clarify, yes I do pass them aggressively, but was referring to "drop the hammer" and passing close refers to my Mustang. Yes I am a little wacked but not " challenged ''!!!!!!!! Idiots who chuck there butts out windows are the challenged ones. I am not normally this politically correct! I hear you Arnie, but when I am sitting on 100 plus horse power and when the asshole meter goes off I cant help myself. Always embraced the quote from Clint Eastwood in one of his Dirty Harry flicks I think. " A Mans Got To Know His Limitations ".  Cheers

I am east of Bancroft, if you guys want some low traffic fresh air twisties, you need to come up here, I feel safer riding up here, not sure if I would want my daughter to ride if she lived in the city. Even if I cut accross up here and then came south I still think I would be hitting heavy traffic at some point, I also think of all the stop and go on the old girl. I think I need the FJ-09 Sabre!  I always wanted to roll on one of those Honda Magna's which I think were the same motor as the Sabre, who was faster, the Honda Sabre or the Magna 1100?

We just rode through your area a couple weeks ago. Some nice roads up there. It is a little bumpy though.

I live in Scarborough and I drive through this shit every day.  :bad:  I can't drive the bike to work during the weekdays anymore as I have been nearly killed too many times.  But on weekends if you time it right you can get through the GTA fairly quickly.

The quickest option is the 407 toll road. (I should get a transponder as I'm starting to use it more frequently)   It will cost about $26.08 (according to their calculator) to go the complete distance one-way.  Traffic volume is much lower, and you can cruise at 120 kph usually no problem - cuz most people will still be passing you.  I usually don't go faster than that cuz the OPP do have traps set up often.  Google says ~4hrs to Brantford taking 28-115-7-20-7-407-QEW-403.  This would require ~6am departure.  Taking secondary roads down in the morning will add at least an hour to this depending on how much you are willing to gamble with your throttle hand.... :pardon:

I can make it to Brantford from my place in just over an hour :wacko1: to 3 hrs  (popcorn)  depending on the mood....

That would be OK for the morning run down, but going back in the evening would be slightly different the first few miles if you wanted to go back on the 407.  Otherwise a relaxing tour home on back roads would be a better tonic.   :good:

Maybe we can offer you a bed if you wanted to come down the night before, or if you wanted to go back on the Sunday.  Once a firm date is set (I work a lot of weekends so I can't commit yet), this option might be more agreeable.
