Oil light on during hard roll-on

I've had the oil light come on a couple times, for a couple seconds, during hard acceleration, stuff like a 3rd gear roll on on a freeway entrance ramp.  It comes on just after I whack open the throttle, not specifically at high RPM.  Oil level looks good, any idea what's up?  Is this a concern, or is it like my fuel level bouncing around during acceleration / cornering?

Yes, it'll happen when you do that. Some refer to it as an acceleration verification indicator.. Naught to worry about..

Cool, good to know- I assume its only a concern if its more than a few seconds (which should be enough to get to triple digit speeds)?

Related, I still haven't managed to loft the front end, or maybe it just sets down so stable I haven't noticed.  Do FJ's even wheelie?  I'm guessing that perimeter frame design really does keep the COG down low and forward.  I haven't been trying, but other (less powerful) bikes I've had seemed prone to lifting the front a few inches when I got happy with the throttle.  TBH that was more annoying than otherwise, so I'm not complaining; the bike gets up to speed faster than I need for any practical purpose.... but then, its not made for practicality!

FYI.  It's an oil LEVEL sensor.  You are not losing pressure when you see the light.

To prevent the light from coming on, keep your oil level close to the upper mark in the sight glass

This has already been discussed, it is a Kookaloo indicator!!!
The glass is not half full, it was engineered with a 2X safety factor.

Put a full 4 quarts of oil in it and the light will stay silent.

The oil light is a level indicator as mentioned and you may see it come on even with the oil level in the sight glass at the top.
On flat land runs you will see on hard acceleration ... everything is ok , you are just pulling enough g's to move oil away from sensor.
when on steep grade uphill turns you will see the light come on as well , not to worry all is ok.

As for wheelies on the FJ , it has a longer wheelbase and swingarm to prevent annoying front end lifts . I find it nice for the wheel to stay on the ground where it is needed .. If you are interested in wheelies , change you rear sprocket to a 43 and that starts the wheelie zone . A 45 is even more crazy.

That said if you give the FJ a yank while accelerating it will pop up just like any other motorcycle . Just remember to cover the rear brake or you will clock it pretty fast .

I can pick up the front wheel at will first or second gear. Don't know what your gearing is but about 40t rear and a 16t front. That front wheel gets light.

Growing up I always heard that the FJ is not a very wheelie friendly machine! I figure long wheel base and front heavy would agree! Who cares, my bike just spins when I get on it plus I am leaning forward!!!!!! :rofl2:    Running 18- 44 rear, 100km/hr is 4000rpm, nice roll on's and helps keep the speeding down due to the revs!!! I love my Franken J, just did 300 km with my daughter on her EX500 today, the bugs are out up here!!!

When I first got my FJ it had 17-44 for sprockets, I have never rode a big bore machine until then, when I rolled on it my vision blurred and I missed several shifts as I was not use to it, the oil light would come on and at first its a panic but it goes out just as quick. Like a wiser person mentioned, fill her full with 4 quarts and you should not see the light anymore.  :hi:

I fill mine to the top of the sight glass, and I still get the oil light come on with roll on. Especially out of slow right handers.
