Don't go cheap on the chain ...... DID, RK or EK are in my opinion the only chains worthy of consideration. You can buy a 120 link box including joining link. Cut to the desired length.

FJZ1 1200 - It'll do me just fine.
Timing has much to do with the success of a rain dance.

Any of the top names are worthy.

Just make sure it says "Suitable for up to 1400cc Street Bikes" :scratch_one-s_head:

There are deals out there, but plan on spending quite a bit for a good one.

Spend $150+ USD on one, and you'll get what you pay for.

Pretty much what they all said. Between all the people I know with FJ's and the ones with Suzuki TL1000's (torquey creatures) - none cheap out on the chain, or the tires, or . . .
I found the RK 530XS0Z1 to be available at less than DID choices if that's a consideration.

If this is a DIY project, get a decent chain breaker/riveter too. I borrowed the garden variety Motion Pro version and between me and another guy with big pipes, we thought it was going to fail in some manner at any second and the riveting was hard going. They are marginal at best for a 530 chain. Just really hard to hold and to turn. I had read that some of them fracture on the first go. Too dangerous for me.

I made up my mind to find something beefier. Motion Pro sells this as their "Jumbo" chain breaker.
You can find lots of alternative sources since they all come out of the same half a dozen factories in China. It was a pleasure to use in comparison to the lighter version.
If someone wants to see any images I refer to in posts, first check my gallery here. If no bueno, send me a PM. More than glad to share.
