What would it take to dress an 86 1200 in the fairings of an 1100?

I'm sure the bracket that holds the main fairing and dash is different, but will it bolt up?

No, it won't bolt up. The mounting points on the frame for the fairing support, are different between those years.

If you can weld, or know of someone who can do it for you, you can weld the proper mounting points on you later model frame, so the earlier model fairing support will bolt up. There are also two pin-like mounts that will need to be added to to the later frame to capture the two front lower corners of the earlier fairing.

Just put "1100" stickers on it, no one will notice the subtle differences in the fairing.

If I still had a functional fairing, I wouldn't ask.

I was thinking of maybe grabbing some 1100 stuff that's available locally to pretty up my 86 before I sell it. If it's that much work, I'll just be selling as is.
