Ok I read the dog bone thread, longer dog bone lowers rear? Why lower rear? Raising rear,speeds up turning, Right?

This might help. When the DB gets shorter it allows the swing arm to drop lower. This image is from an articulating solid model, so in the computer you can see the rear suspension parts move as the rear wheel is raised and lowered.

Hey Cash ,
for the FJ 1100 there are no dogbones . You need a new shock with a height adjuster .. Penske makes a great one.

MonkeyMark has been working on a solution to put dogbones on early model fj's and it is quite the project thus far. no solution in sight.
The RPM shock does not have a height adjustment.

when I had an 86 FJ I did the Honda F4I shock mod and I found a nice height gain. I now have a 93 and I made some shorter dog bones which did the trick.

On your 93' do you have the dimensions? Did it change the handling in a good way?

Well the stock length I believe is 12.5cm or 125mm hole to hole. I made my own with 1/4" thick by 1 1/4 wide stainless steel flat bar. It was 11cm hole to hole. The hole size is 12mm. I find the ride to be a little more nimble and I didn't really like the ride height before because I found the seat to be too low even though I am only 5'9". If you're into making your own then you can play with the lengths and tweak it exactly the way you like. Or if you are not inclined to take that route, you can always buy a set of adjustable dog bones from Soupy. Here's the link:

I did the same on my '93, but I went with 11.5cm center-to-center. Noticeable difference in "flickability". Love the change.
