Most excellent...SRV is my go-to for shooting pool...in my head when I'm riding some twisties...and remembering how it always put an old girlfriend in a certain frame of mind...   :good2:  Thanks for sharing!

The night he died I was playing at a club in Darien WI.(The Silver Moon) I never got to see him live...  The day after I went to Alpine Valley and saw the crash site , it was horrific! He was probably my biggest inspiration as a guitarist at that time... still is. I regret never seeing him he was the best.  Thank you for posting this! And god rest your soul Stevie I sure do miss ya Man!                                                                                                                       Cheers! :drinks:                                                                                                                                                                                                Charley.

yes, such a loss for sure
he seemed like a genuinely nice guy, at least from the times i heard him speak in interviews and what not
he had such a unique sound that it didnt matter what he played you knew SRV was playing it
i was lucky enough to see him when he toured with Jeff Beck back in '89 or '90
Beck came out with Stevie to play a couple of songs, it was pretty damn good!

SRV is one of my guitar heroes, I regret I never seen him live but a few of my pals told me all about it. I just made a purchase at the music shop for the Boss RC-300(looper)and while I was there they had a Fender Trade Mark cutting board in the style of the Stratocaster, I thought of Stevie as soon as I seen it and had to buy it. I was thinking about those old wood burning hoby kits when I was a kid and thought about burning his trade mark SRV into it. I blame the asshole pilot who didnt know there was a fucking mountain in front of him and reading his altimeter. Its crowded up there in rock&roll heaven!  :ireful:

it's rainin' down in Texas

All of the telephone lines are down.

roll a fattie at the Town Lake statute and head on into town

the Saxon Pub or the Continental - one's sure to have that SRV sound

Texas Flood....!!!
Michael...Nice lyrics! If you write something FJ based I could write and record it (a la SRV of course) and it could be a soundtrack to an FJ ralley or ride...think about it. BTW, is this a personal account of a trip to Auston  lol :good:                                           Cheers Man!                                                                                                                                                                          Charley          :drinks:

thank ya kindly Charley.  I lived in Austin several years, wonderful town.  I fancy myself to be a singer-song writer and reckon I could set most anything to lyric.

Give me the beat boy, I'll free your soul, like an FJ on 2222 startin' to roll.

you want 3 verses and a break set to 12 bars in the neighboorhood of  "A" I assume.
