have to admit everybody is a  champ... We even have Ranks from a General down,,

I will just say this forum would be alot duller if we didn't have the posts from the "blokes" down under. I even look forward to Klavdy's posts!  Dave

I hear ya Ken. Posting downunder is followed by many from upover, but I think you mean why aren`t their more posts from our many Aussie mates...well, more often!

I attended a Christmas party for the XS1100 crew at Kenilworth last Saturday. It was a spur of the moment thing so didn`t mention it here. (apologies). http://xs1100.com.au/forum/index.php?topic=2528.msg16707#msg16707
They came from The Gold Coast and up as far as Bundaberg. Unbelievable awful weather meant half came by car, but it was bloody great....Just like the FJ crew ...But they too don`t post very often. (compared to the overall relative global tally here).
I had a PM only this week from an Aussie FJ mate that averages only one post per two months for tha last 3 years.

Your Post got me thinking. Is it an Aussie trait cause we`re on average very bashfull, Shy and concerned at putting a step out of place?....which of course would explain why we don`t hear from Klav very often, nor many of the 100 or so Lurkers out there, where women glow & men plunder!

Me thinks it`s related to Climate, employment and budget!.

Not many of us are retired. In fact I can only think of two. Our sheds are not snowbound...but reality is a vast majority have a constant work commitment, growing families and/or a mortgage to pay and more tax per head due to the cost of large tracks of bitumen between addresses.

Aussie partners enjoy being plundered by stable errr.... plunderers, hence their permission is forthcoming for Manshed days, Musters and Rallys, where beer can flow and partners chunder!....they enjoy the rewards from us being head down and arse up, hence a budget rocket makes sense. However when it comes to keyboard time, ya better run, ya better take cover! imho.   :drinks:

You've nailed it for me 'work, commitment, mortgage....' The list goes on.  In between we slip in the rides, the projects (some that could last a life time) and a bit of forum viewing/contributing in the between times.
I think I'm in danger of growing old badly but who bloody cares!

I don't know about the rest of you, but I keep to myself rather than risk upsetting anyone or having a disagreement.

"Shy and concerned at putting a step out of place?"

Really?

Have you ever met him?

Yeah fair enough, I have too much time on my hands id say.

What many may not realize is that 99% of everything "The General" says is "taking the piss".
You just need to learn to translate from his idea of humor and vague references to a wide variety of sources into both 'english' or 'aussie'.
Here's hoping that he'll appreciate my giving up his nefarious verbal/textual ways.

We`ve all got the same amount of time, 24hrs a day, it`s just a matter of priorities.  Your expressed curiosity is shirt face honesty (as usual).
Who doesn`t enjoy a quiet sip at the bar, while the education & shit flies between mates or strangers from the same tribe. (just keep one hand over the glass.   )

But ya have got me thinkin about "local" topics.....Like car Insurance cost when combined with bikes, Mosques (got one go`n up at the Sunshine Coast....not that there`s anything wrong with that!), Broadford next Easter, Next Manshed date, Wog57 memorial Calendar, Bank Slavery, Gold Coast Boat people, Unusual Christmas gifts like fart fresheners, Nefarious Beer Bubbles....why do they just keep coming? Why do some just stay on the side and don`t wanta surface? ...there`s gotta be more in this Keg!  :drinks:
