I was waiting for a more Bambi vs. Godzilla type of ending. Or one of those faces that jump out & scream at you. :ireful:

I have no idea who owns the bike. To that point are there any Fj owners on here that have videos posted on youtube of their bikes?

Thanks General . Ha, now that is a FJ paradise. Some unusual mods on some bikes there too. Its amazing that after all these years the FJ still looks cool without looking dated.

On a side note did the Yamaha RD 350 powervalve ever make a splash in Oz?. It was the  first  bike I bought ( I stole all the others..just kidding).

The FJ in my young eyes was the big brother  the RD 350 powervalve

Was there a model year where the primary colors were white with blue trim?

The first FJ that I ever saw, had a nitrous bottle on it. The young kid that was riding the bike, said that he hadn't tried the N2O yet. I don't even know if the system was connected, or if it was just an empty bottle bolted up. It sure looked mean & fast!

Yes there was a blue and white model. Cant remember the year. However I think that model may only have had a quarter fairing whereas the later models had a full fairing. Having said that it was a long time ago.

General , I recognise that colour scheme. Its earlier than a 85 if memory serves me right. I have only been in the US a few years. My RD 350 was less than year old when I bought it in Ireland. I used to think the sound when you turned the ignition on was so cool.

my elcy is an 81 model, they came out in 80 till 82, they never made it to the states because of emission laws, the powervalve came out afterwards i believe ..

i think the powervalve raises and lowers the port height to even out the band a bit more than the LC, but i could be wrong.

My '84 RZ (Kenny Roberts black/yellow model) had the power valve, and did the dance when the key was turned on.  Fun bike, I miss it.
I wonder what it would be like with a 580cc Banshee motor in a RZ ...

That sounds about right! I only remember it having a small fairing. I was looking at it from the right rear corner. The bike was primarily white with mid to light shade of blue stripes or swooshes on it. The time frame that I saw that bike would have been somewhere between '88-'90. I seem to recall it being an 1100. At the time, I was riding a Honda VT500FT Ascot & was in awe of liter plus bikes, especially one with an N2O bottle on it.

Thanks.
