Gawd, don't know why I put these mods off as long as I did!

Got a ride in before the snow fell, and couldn't believe the transformation in handling and braking!

Will post a write-up in the Files Section soon.

I have got a newly rebuilt 1340 motor and an Ohlins shock that would go real well with the mods you have already done. Going cheap

If you were closer to me, I'd take you up on that motor and shock. No problem.  :good2:

Love it, wish I had thought of doing it that way, would have saved a lot of time and money.

"It's a fine, fine line between pleasure and pain" - the late great Chrissy Amphlett & Divinyls. Never truer than when you're pushing hard on the bike. A good song to keep in the back of your mind.

Just another example of Yankee ingenuity.  :good2:

Stay tuned, as there will be other awesome upgrades this coming winter, to turn the Mighty FJ into an even mightier beast.

CLEARLY no chix for you!    (Your forks don't say "Upside Down")

At this rate, I expect to next see a plastic sheet on the underside labeled Original Belly Pan.

You should make a DIY video for the files.

Ole Reliable's image or form would never be tarnished by inferior products made by J.C. Whitney! Those sir, are fine chrome snail horns of the highest quality. Harbor Freight!

Good eye! Yes, no chix for me. But, I may revisit the USD fork dilemma at a later date,

Plastic sheet, belly pan, hmm. I should consult with you before the design review.

The DIY vid, is duly noted.

Its my tired old motor with "1340" written on the clutch cover with a permanent marker, and a standard saggy shock spray painted ohlins yellow. The perfect compliment to the mods already done to this bike

stua1959

Sorry Harvy, Noel and Arnie, just my obscure sense of humour. Now I know how to make FJ nuts wet their pants - just mention "1340 going cheap"

I wondered when I first read your post, but saw through it. Exactly what I expected!

Pictures would have helped.
