I just learned today of the death of the USAF medic who accompanied me and kept me alive in the ambulance after my nearly fatal crash in Dec. 2012. He drowned in a scuba diving accident.

This is a sad, strange feeling. R.I.P., Jason. You've accomplished your mission well.

Drowning! <shudder>

The book "The Last Dive: A Father and Son's Fatal Descent into the Ocean's Depths" was a good read on that subject:

I'm very sorry to read of his passing. Thank you for sharing.

Never like hearing about another loss, but it's one of those things we need to hear.

Sounds like he touched many lives in a positive manner, Godspeed to him

Thanks for posting it

I know that feeling. Sorry to hear of your loss.
A medic beside your bed exchanged SMS messages with me just after your accident.
Deservedly, you had an army of support surrounding you. Their comraderie demonstrated truly linked hearts that would make anyone sit up and ponder, yet marvel at the bonds of friendship and the compassion of the many givers in the medical fraternity.  :drinks:
