Uni Pods & O Ring Kit

Spent the weekend (missed the Bathurst race) in the shed fitting the carb o ring/stainless bolt kit & uni pods filters. After seeing the condition Xray's carbs were in when he pulled his airbox out I was expecting similar, but although gungy on the outside the insides weren't too bad.

After a good clean, everything was pulled apart and was surprised to find that all the o rings weren't too bad after all these years.

These kits that Randy sells are top quality, and come with every o ring and stainless bolt needed for a complete carb overhaul. All finished and ready to put back on.

Fitted manifold o rings as well but had dramas trying to get the bolts undone, they were that tight they wouldn't budge by hand so I had to put a spanner over the allen key to get more leverage, the bracket for the heat shield in the way didn't make it any easier either, but finally after a lot of swearing and lost skin they gave in

Mounted the crankcase filter up out of the way under the fuel tank mount.

I didn't have a sync tool handy to do the carbs so I made one out of a couple of bottles and some clear tubing. It was slow doing two at a time, but in the end everything sounds pretty good, I'll check them again at the next Manshed day.

All finished, look at all the spare room there now. I also put new plugs, fuel filter, and fuel line on as well. Looks a lot better and sounds great.

I don't like my chances Ken because you had the slight edge last time for the roll on test. Put another 80,000km on yours to match mine and it'd be a different story I reckon, but I'm always up for a challenge so yeah, your on.
