Hi I gave my fj 12 an oil change about 2 weeks ago (seeing as I dont know when it was done last) as I got it a few months ago and just really started riding it more recently Ive noticed a puff of blue smoke on starting it up which it never done before oil change ???  saying that it was jus some cheap 10/40 oil I used to give it an oil change..so wondering why its started to smoke now??

How many miles are on your FJ?

Does your bike burn oil otherwise? If so, how much, in how many miles?

hi its only done 34446 miles no it doesnt burn oil any other time ..as I said its just started doing it after Id changed the oil ... an just noticed I've posted in modifications instead of maintenance :wacko2:

Likely just worn valve stem seals. Its likely that the new oil may be just a bit thinner than the old and seeping past the seals a bit quicker, but more ikely that this is just the first you noticed it.

Have someone follow you down a fun road and let you know if it smokes on decell as well.

x 2 on the valve seals.  More than likely that fresh oil was a tad more slippery than the old and now gets past the seals. A for sure sign would be to pull the carbs and look down the intake track...you should see a tell tale sign of deposits on the valve itself.  FWIW, you could try running  thicker/better oil to hold off the repair for a while. Also,if its alot of smoke,it could be degrading your spark plugs too.  Good luck.
