This is currently for sale on ebay.     http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/1979-GS1000EN-CASTROL-6-HOUR-WINNER-/271621260247?pt=AU_Motorcycles&hash=item3f3de383d7

Just wondering if the SEQ lads want to pool their money to get this piece of history. I'd be happy to house it at my place and any share holders can come and look at it anytime they want , (by appointment)...

Seriously though, whats a bike like this worth??

Ken, I have no idea what it would be worth - probably what ever it gets too.

One of our Qld members (who is very seldom around as he no longer has an FJ) - TeeCee up in Airlie Beach, used to own a Castrol 6 Hour FJ1100..... I believe it is now down in Lismore or maybe Casino.

Timing has much to do with the success of a rain dance.

gday Harvy, do you know if it was still dressed up for the race or put back on the road?

It was back on the road Ken, but still very fast. Was originally prepared for racing by Causeway Yamaha over in WA and ran in the '84 and i think '85 6 hours.

I recall TeeCee had some photos of it on the forum somewhere.... let me see if i can find them.

A piece of history alright, wow, wouldn't it be great to own. But you could never ride it......
