I got rear ended back in June and decided to add additional LED Tail/brake light and turn signals.

Lookin' good. My other ride is a chinese 250cc touring scooter and the thing I like most about it is the 4" x 10"  21 led taillight assembly. Of course, the headlights are crap.  :good2:

Nova,

I was in China about a year ago, and one of the real eye-openers was that very few of the scooter or small motorcycle riders used their headlights at night.  This was in Beijing, Shanghai, and Zangchou.  What was even more upsetting was that most of these vehicles were electric, and almost silent as well.
I felt very vulnerable as a pedestrian.

Yup, seems like there is a whole group of people out there, especially the ones who do "stealth" mods on their bikes, that have the feeling of "hey, I can see them, it doesn't matter if they don't see me". Occasionally they get rear ended and come to see the error of their ways.

Also, on a lot of the scooters, there isn't a lot of spare amps to go around. On my 250, the headlight is locked on, but I can turn off the instrument cluster lights. I only use them briefly and rarely, because if I use them all the time, the charge system can't keep up.

Fred,

When you added the LEDs, did the turn signals blink at a faster rate than before?  Was anything else needed, except for the LEDs?

I already have the RPM tail light with integrated signals. I have resistors installed, so the turn signals would blink at a normal flash rate. Installing the added light strip did not effect the flash rate.

I do not know what effect adding the light strip will have tied into turn signals with regular filament bulbs.
