Just purchased a new pair of leather gloves. Super comfortable and reasonably priced at $120.00 CND. Local guys company is called Rubber Side Down. Sells all sorts of riding clothing, even custom stuff. Nice guy too.

Looks like they are very well put together!  What is the brand on those?

Armor on the hands are a must, protect the things you can't do without. I saw Klavdy's after his Pinecone incident, the steel knuckle plates did there job...
The glass is not half full, it was engineered with a 2X safety factor.

I think they're his own brand. Maybe manufactured in china? Let me use them for a while and I'll report back.

I'm in the market for some summer gloves, how are these wearing Andrew?   I like the gauntlet style, don't need much insulation and like the armor on these.   I'll also welcome reviews on similar gloves from everyone. :)

They have actually been very good gloves. I'll post a pic as soon as I can on how they've been wearing.

Still looking good! Some of the black has faded and the palms have discoloured, although my old grips were terribly worn(I have since replaced them). Overall break in period was quick and now fit... well like a glove.

Sweet!  I ordered a pair yesterday after talking to the owner Josh.  With the US to Canadian exchange rate in my favor I'll get them for about $85 + S/H.

Yes you lucky Americans...each .73 US buys one $CDN, officially, but add on fees etc it is much worse.. Some very good deals for you but is really is a killer the other way.....I just exchanged $140 CDN and got back $98 USD at one of our major banks.

It really is enough to make me a grumpy old man. :ireful:

That's a 27% difference in the rate and it looks like your bank pocketed 4.00 USD just because ?  Ouch.  Time for an FJ rally in Canada ! Come back for a visit Jeff you have a free room here, no tax no fee's. :).

On the conversion subject I bought some KAPPA K40 hard bags direct from Italy for 258 euros including the shipping.  Came to 286.00 USD after conversion and small fee.  Which was a good price.  Took 21 days in transit but got here just fine.

I looked at those after I made the post. They look well made. I have been looking for some summer gloves like those with some foam padding across the top of the palm and a strip down the outside area of the hand.  Thinking I might be able to modify a good glove like that into what am looking for.  They look very tempting...

When I talked to Josh he said they can alter any item including gloves.  Their niche is custom clothing so there's a good chance he can make what you want.

Tell him John sent you :) - Phone: (604) 451-7843
