Finally back on the road, although only a couple of hundred km's so far. FZR rims, new brake rotors, new caliper seals, braided lines, headlight relays, new exhaust system (ordered this before I knew Randy was working on one) and numerous other small bits and pieces. Went with the Michelin PR4's in the end, 170 on the back ( a 180 would require bending the brake torque arm and spacing the chain out) so far feels really good but needs a bit more scrubbing in, like wise with the rotors. Also freed up the front rubber engine mounts, didn't realize how rough it had got, now almost silky smooth, no more buzzing fairing or blurred mirrors and no pins and needles in the right hand, thanks to everyone that recommended doing this it's hard to believe just how much difference it makes. All in all I think the word is Kookaloo!!!

Hi Tony, they are Delkevic's, got them off ebay, they have an Oz distributor actually in Qld, his service was really good but there's a bit of an issue fitting them to the later models although they are advertised for these, the link pipes are too long to be able to mount to the rubber mounting point behind the footrest plate and the centre stand stop isn't close to where it should be, so I had to trim about 30mm off the length and the centre stand sits on a piece of rubber under the suspension linkage. Delkevic say they are looking into the problems and will get back to me, so we shall wait and see, they may be ok on earlier models, the finish is really good and they sound nice without being too loud.

The bike looks really nice mean John!  Nothing like getting it back on the road after major updates!!

I have the Delkevic system too and I love it.  The sound of the bike has gotten throatier and with a bit more growl as the miles stack up (and the muffler packing settles I assume).

Hi, did the polishing myself, just the outer part of the rim, and had the centers re-sprayed with 2 pack at the local crash repair shop. Used paint stripper from the local hardware shop to strip the original paint, came off really easy around the rims and the ally underneath was really good, didn't really need much polishing. I used 600 and 1200 wet/dry paper and Autosol polish, they're not perfect and still have a few small scratches here and there but they're good enough for me. I can post some better pictures if you like.

I'm still yet to do mine, tossing up whether to go just a full respray on each or do the polished area as well like you have. Just have to pull it all apart, remove the tyres etc etc etc .......

Oops, should have cleaned it first. Centres are sprayed in 2 pack grey similar to original colour, but gloss because it will be easier to keep clean, and rims were just hand polished. A quick wash with soapy water and a 10 minute polish of the rims should keep them looking pretty good, should have done that before I took photos but it's about 5C degrees outside at the moment so it'll have to wait. A friend had his wheel fully polished and they look fantastic but it takes him about 1/2 a day to polish them and if you clear coat them it starts to chip and scratch after a while, I think this is a good compromise. A bit of bling without too much work.
