I guess the falling down do do others iscontagious. I was on my way to the post officeer work this afternoon and stopped in t he street due to an emergency vehicle approaching . Then screeching tires and WHAM I am doing a Superman impression. I was wearing my black mesh and leather jack and had enough sense to Tuck and Roll. The armor in the elbow and shoulder took the brunt of the impact and I rolled right up onto my feet, pissed off and already screaming what a dumb ass the cager was as he exited his truck. I came away unscathed but my old faithful did not. Over all pretty minor damage. Most disturbing is the rash on the Lockhart Phillips FJ1100 lowers and the destruction of my RPM/German homogulated clear LED tail light. My pc internet is down this evening. I will post photos in the morning.

Sorry to hear that Fred. Good that you got away unhurt. Being rear ended is also my biggest worry.  Dave

Wow Fred, I guess you've had a touch of it too!  Glad you're OK.  Good idea with the tuck 'n roll!  Bummer about the FJ.  I sure hope the cager had insurance.

sorry to hear. Thats my biggest fear. Getting rear ended. Stupid moron cagers just dont pay attention anymore and it seems to be getting worse daily. Countess times now I have thought about giving up the ghost and selling fj and just sticking to dirt/adventure only. Sucks cause I am also addicted to the FJ too.

I don't like this Fred.

I'm glad you were not seriously hurt.

Glad you are OK Fred. The bike is just stuff and fixable.  I have a friend who was in Salt Lake at a stop light with an SUV stopped in the lane next to him, a semi truck rear ended the SUV scared the shit out of my friend.  Killed the SUV driver.  All the crap flew around my friend and was unscathed but his comment about the event has always stayed with me  "damn, if a truck can't see a f***en SUV in front of him what chance do I have....".

I found myself using those rear view mirrors a lot more after that. Rule 1 might be don't fall down,  but rule 2 has to be stay away from vehicles , assume everyone is out there to kill you and rules of the road, stop signs and lights are just someones opinion...

Get well soon Fred.  :drinks:  What is it that the Marines say "Pain is fear leaving your body" ?

Crap!  Glad you made it out OK!  Still may want to go to the doctor tomorrow and make. Sure there aren't any injuries that adrenaline helps to hide

Capn Ron

I have a collection of motorcycle crash videos...just trying to learn from them...HALF are rear-enders from car drivers not paying attention!  :shok: Glad you're okay Fred!!!

Glad your ok, I got rear ended in January and didn't feel to bad at the time but it ended up taking 3 months before i was 100%.
I'd get to the doctors and get checked out,  Even if it's just for the record.    Some injuries may not show for awhile. Like your neck.  Good luck.

FeralRdr

Very glad to hear that your OK.  Getting rear ended is definitely one of my nightmare scenarios, as I've heard of too many resulting in catastrophic endings for many of the riders involved.

andyoutandabout

Not the lowers man!! Well done on post accident restraint and not punching said driver in the face.
Good to hear you're alright - that's the most important - even when considering the special fj bits and pieces.
