Haven't tried that one. Not sure I like it. I have a throttlemeister on my FJ which works very well. We like it so much we got one for Donna's Ninja also.

I haven't used the Omni Cruise, but don't like the idea of its interaction with the brake lever.  +1 for the Throttlemeister.  It's an amazingly well engineered product and works flawlessly!

Capn' Ron, I fitted one of those to Doug's (the General) outfit a while back. Despite the appearance, there is no interference with the brake lever. While they might look a bit ungainly they certainly work well and can be transferred from bike to bike in a second. Wonderfully simple design and cheap.

Your are right, the Throttlemeister is a beautifully engineered piece of equipment but very expensive. I did 700kms last week on a bike with a similar unit and while it did the job, I found it inconvenient to use, particularly for short bursts like flicking a switch or adjusting a mirror, compared to the Vista and didn't use it much as a result.



The Vista is right under your thumb and can be engaged / disengaged without moving your hand from the throttle to tension the friction ring / bar end.



I have Vistas on two bikes and since fitting the Omni to the Generals bike, I liked the simplicity, operation and instant remove / install so much a bought one to use on bikes other than my own on long rides.

As usual though, whatever you're comfortable with, but there is no downside to the Omni, it's quick to engage, automatically disengages when you roll the throttle forward and it's cheap.

Yes, they're great and for under $30 if you don't like it, give it away, but I'm sure you won't. Only downside is they're a bit ugly but you get used to it (or just put it on for trips)

For me it meant the Holly-grail discover for my summer travels!. Its the only way to preserve your right cleido-mastoid muscle without pain in a 600 km per day trip for 30 days. Fantastic!

And I use it too to hold the throttle with the vacuum, to hold the throttle in the morning with the choke off a couple of minutes, to close that strap that you missed to closed when riding, holding the throttle...

I have used the Vista cruse for years and it has worked well. I mounted it so the lever is under the throttle and you can hardly tell it is there. I like the way Noel mounted it with a small screw rather than the little bracket it comes with. Great idea.

I've used the vista since the late 70's. Simple, easy to use. But no matter your choice, some type of throttle lock makes the long rides much more enjoyable.

I've also used the Vista Cruise setup...PO installed it on my FJ...and I liked it.  Very unobtrusive and has been mentioned, it's under $30.  The Omni Cruise looks like it would work just fine, but it just looks ungainly and is around $50.  I do like that it's made in the states...becoming a rarity these days!
