I was just getting ready to go out and put my bike in the garage, in like one minutes time, when a knock at my door. I went to see who it was and it was the girl who lives downstairs from me. She sorrily says she backed into my bike and knocked it over. So i went out and sure enough it was lying its left side. I picked it up and told her not to worry, that things can always be fixed.  She said if there was any damage she would pay for it.  well the clutch lever got bent but I like it better this way.  The shifter got bent but I was able to bend it back.  The fairing plastic blocks got beat up some more but they weren't perfect to start with. The left side fairing mount tab got bent but I bent it back. the only damage is my exhaust can where the trailer mount hit. I think I got off pretty good or I should say she got off pretty good. Sometimes sh*# happens. If I was perfect, well then I may have something to whine about. Besides she is in college and can't have a lot of money, I know I never did.  Besides now I have a story.

X2 for both you and her. A lot of people would have driven off.

I've probably got a lever or two if you need one - won't be pretty but should be straight.  Might not be a bad idea to carry a spare - may have started a stress crack from being bent

Good on ya, I like to be realistic when these things happen. Enough people have been like that with me when I was the problem. It is way less stress and grief.
The glass is not half full, it was engineered with a 2X safety factor.

Definitely must have been cute.

The old guy that banged over my 1100 on to its left side coughed up $100 to be on the safe side. :)

We're OK. He's a known local nice guy. He said he saw the bike when walking to his truck, made a mental note to be looking for it when backing out, but someone distracted him and thump.
Much of the bad damage I didn't notice until hours later when I got down on my knees for a real look, like a caved in ignition cover with a 2 inch crack and a crack through the left fairing above the little bumpers. Everything else was the usual lever, muffler and mirror rash.

Thanx Pat. I appreciate the offer.  Thanx fj1289. I may get in touch with you about that.  Yea, she is cute, as are many college 20 yr. olds. But that doesn't matter. I would have done the same for anyone, maybe even you.
