So sorry for you and your families loss.  Although nothing will ever bring him back, time will ultimately make it easier to bear the loss.  Each day every fraction of a breath will become a little bit easier and eventually you will breath easy, he will always be in your heart.
All the best to you and yours,

Andrew Rivett

Thank you all again for the outpouring of support, While I personally "know" only a few of the members of this forum as compared to the membership totals, I still feel a friendship to all of you.

We have been through tragedy, such as Lotsokids accident, and shared the sorrow and pain associated with them; but we survive and move forward.

Everyday will become more tolerable as time heals all wounds. It is just hard to see the motorcycle that I have ridden with so many times, worked on and took pride in helping him get the bike he always wanted.

He was happy and since he purchased that bike last fall, he had already put over 20k on the clock as he rode that thing everywhere, rain or shine, hot or cold, day or night. Hell we just did the 3rd set of brake pads and mounted the saddle bag last week as he was tired of wearing a back pack back & forth to work.

He wore a full face helmet and the proper gear and he was a believer of "load pipes save lives", unfortunately, the proper gear and pipes could not save him.

Ladies and gentlemen, the only thing I can pass along from my personal experience of riding is to treat everyone on the road as the one that will be killing you. People are more distracted daily, by cars that are sound proof, radios, cell phones, texting and they do not see you especially in cites & towns where traffic is even more congested.

Ride defensively, remember the car that turns left in front of you will say to the police, " I never saw the motorcycle".

Ride safe, make sure the ones you love know it and be careful.

Randy and Chandra, so sorry to hear of your loss. You have a lot of friends over here that will be thinking of you

Randy,
I am very sorry to hear about your loss.  There are times that I myself contemplate the idea of riding as much as I enjoy it.  As you say, it is always those who are so preoccupied with life that we need to worry about.
Take care of yourself and I wish you and your family the courage to deal with such as sudden loss,

Sorry for your loss. I grew up racing mx and always swore I wouldn't ride street for this very reason.

But..To put into perspective....My grandfather was in the Guinness book of world records in the early '90's. He turned 100 and had two older siblings alive. My moms side of the family all lived into their 90's, no diseases or anything on either side. Me and my younger brother joked how we would live to 130 with our genes. Well two years ago he got seizures out of the blue. Within 6 months he was in the ground from brain cancer. Nobody in my family had any cancers at all.

Point is I believe when its your time its your time and there's not a dang thing you can do about. Riding motorcycles or not. I know a guy that have rode every day of his live for 40 years with no accidents.
