Hey All,
Just picked up a 91 FJ1200.  Bike has been sitting for the past 12 years and needs Plenty of TLC to get it back up and running.
Ive already asked questions in the maintenance section and have been ordering parts through RPM and ebay.
So far........ new carbs and lots of cleaning out fuel system. Actually got it fired yesterday so already making progress. (but, plenty more to do to make it road worthy)

Im just north of Boston and see there is a tremendous following of FJ owners out there.  Cant wait to get it out on the road.
Attaching a few pics of the condition I got it in......it doesn't look horrible. It was just put away 12 years ago in a garage with no thoughts of it sitting so long.  I just got the two side covers that are missing tonight.

Welcome to the fire. Nice to see another 91 owner here. Once you get it all fixed up you will be able to enjoy it for years to come.. Mine has a tad over 115,000 miles on it and its still running fine. Keep us informed with your progress.

They do seem pretty easy to work on and the amount of information on this site is awesome!
I'm hoping to get it done relatively soon and get out on it.  The fact that it only has 16000 miles on it should mean i will have get some good time out of it.
Ive got a laundry list of things i want to do to it before heading out.  Tires, brake lines, Brake fluid,(pads look good), need to clean fuel tank, oil/filter, plugs and im sure i will find more.   One slowdown is i want to do the rear 17" wheel change before I get new tires so got to find the parts for that.  (Ive already received, rebuilt carbs, uni filter, breather, plugs, oil filter)

Joe, Im on the north shore, not too far from tewksbury.

Little update on my project.  After emailing with Randy he has given me all the suggestions as far as what jets to  use.   They actually came in today so as soon as time allows i will change them out.

Today if finally sync'd the carbs.  What a difference.  They didnt seem to be off all that much but damn its running so much better.  Took it for a cruise around town today and its running nice.  (its not registered yet so i didnt wander off too far)

ive also done the oil/filter, pods, and plugs and complete tank cleaning (posted this in another post i found on how to do it.....came out excellent)

My plans do include swaping out to a 17" wheel before buying new rubber.  Ive been searching ebay for GSXR stuff and im just about there with parts.  For about just over $200 ive got all the parts (most are here, just waiting on a couple more to show up) and I will mock the wheel and brake set up before buying rubber.

Other things im doing, swap out brake lines to stainless braided, thinking Delkevic carbon fiber slip ons,  RPM rear LED tailight (got that today too)  to ditch the large clothes hanging directionals, some trimming of the back inner wheel well so it doesn't hang so far down below the lic plate.

Should be another few weeks getting it together

My all time favorite color scheme. Enjoy the ride.
