Do you think this windshield is too tall and looks goofy?

My original windscreen looks bad, not sure how to clean it.  I'd like to replace it with a smoke/dark one that's maybe a little taller.
But it this one overkill?  It's a little pricey but looks nice.

I would be cautious of any long distance touring. The larger surface area will create added forces on the upper fairing/windscreen mounts.

I had a MRA touring flip windscreen of my 89'. The added force of the wind broke my fairing and fairing support at the upper most windscreen attachment screw.

The screen you are asking about looks like it might be on a COP bike.... Looks way to tall to me.  I went with a MRA touring and so far I like it but wouldn't want anything any taller.  Windscreens are kind of a personal item when it comes to how it works.  No perfect one for everybody. For that matter no windscreen will work in Wyoming.... You get wind up your ass there...

In reading Fred's problem with the MRA I will take the inner covers off and see if I can fab a thin plate to reinforce that fairing area limiting the flexing.  I have not noticed a problem but Fred had more time on his.

No kidding. The other day there was a terrible crosswind and it felt like it was going to blow the bike out from under me, and that was in town!

Forget the windshield and just ride prone with your feet on the rear pegs when out on the highway. 

But to answer your original question, yes it looks goofy.

Whenever I've ridden behind a large shield like that the wind buffeting and noise was absolutely terrible.

I rode an '08 BMW sport touring bike (I don't remember the numbers) that had a large adjustable windscreen.  None of the positions were any good and my helmet was constantly getting slapped by an high frequency alternating crosswind buffeting that made my vision blurry.  I couldn't return it fast enough.

But it does look pretty tall, like a cop bike...

These are the support pieces I mentioned. They are obsolete for the 91'-93' models and for the equivalent ones on the 88'-90 models. Took me 6 months of searching and settled for buying a miscellaneous box of nuts & bolts from Germany that included the fairing supports.

Yep that is one goofy looking screen. I'd say no.
My screen looks regular and it deflects the wind right into the middle of my chest which is great as it seems to take pressure off my arms and does not cause any helmet buffeting. Perhaps you might find the same solution works for you. I'm 6ft and sit on a standard seat.

I.have that very same riser and windscreen.It came with the bike and I don't use it much do to the goofy looks.also I'm not very tall and its about an inch to hi for me to see over.
But, it is unbelievably quit and calm.behind that shield.Way quieter than even my goldwing.For the most part I stick with the stock screen.Except cold season.
  I am in the market for something in between if anyone has any suggestions.

What is a power bronze?
I am considering a MRA.touring shield.Can anyone give me advice?
I'm looking for something with a little less wind turbulance that he stock screen. its very noisy and I'm going buy a svala rider team set and am.worried about the noise being a problem.

Any other suggestions?
