Inverell Restorers Rally

took the old girl out for my first trip, Tamworth to Inverell rally, fitted some saddle bags, I hate gear sacks, & off we went,

I haven't taken it for a trip, seems a waste to have the FJR sitting there collecting dust, so a 240km trip was a good test for me kneeze, was a pleasure & brought back memories of 1985
when the FJ1100 was my only transport.

Did a Gold coast to Tamworth one night 650km in 4 hours, the New England boring High way seems to fly by at 240kmh, didn't need to worry about Skippies in 1985, I was bullet proof 

I didn't win a trophy, but we did well in the race, 215 bikes & we made our way to 4th in the mob till the shock fell of me mates Z1r kwaka 

This rally would be a  great ride on our calender is its central to Sydney & QLD.

Few days ago enquired about registration for my XS1100 and FJ1200 in a couple of years.
Was thinking I was going to save heaps etc under historic rego, but na  
In QLD it's called "Special Inerest Veh" and you save a massive $19.40 per 12 months...
Is that shyte or what...
Single seat saves just under $200 a year...

I have a single seat Police box for an FJ I got off Ebay from a Brisbane Policeman,( I think he may stole it ) 

They do exist, if you could find one, may look better than butchering ya seat,

Police used the FJ in QLD & S.A i'm told.

Good idea, bought a secondhand FJ seat off flea bay for $50 so I can still have a good one to use if I want to return to stock later. 
Police box would look better though.
