Hello FJ-freaks, may I introduce myself  :good2:

First of all, I am happy to see that there still are lot's of FJ enthisiast's all over the world.

I bought my own 93' FJ 1200 at eBay Germany on the 24. December 2003 10:00 Pm.

Meanwhile I have made several changes to it:

XJR 1300 engine
13 row oilcooler
5,5x17" Rearwheel and 3,5x17" frontwheel conversion
XJR Exhaust complete
XJR Swingarm
Bluepot (R1) brake calipers front and rear
Wilbers 640 rear shock and front springs
Superbike handlebar and XJR master cylinders
MRA windshield

Take a look at the Danish FJ Club homepage: http://fjclub.dk/

Best regards

How difficult is it to mount the XJR exhaust?

It's not that difficult. Depends a little on the FJ model.

On the FJ 1100, FJ 1200 86-87 and the FJ 1200 91-93 you will only have to make some small mod's to the mount bracket's on the XJR mufflers. On the FJ 1200 88-90 You must make some extra bracket's because the location of the mount's on this model is a little different from the other models.

I am pretty new here, so I have to ask what is XJR? And where did the wheels come from and how much $?

I used Marchesini wheels (aluminum) on a past project, and think they would be a super addition to the FJ.

Welcome, Freaks!

Junkyard,

The XJR is a bike that I don't think was sold in US.  It is a Yamaha nakid bike using the FJ engine/trans, a tubular steel frame with twin shocks.  Probably closest rivals are the Kaw ZXR11-1200 or the Suzuki 1300.

My guess is that the wheels also came from the XJR.

Cheers,
Arnie

Benny,

Hello and Welcome.    :hi:

I am jealous, I think it would be so cool to get the XJR engine in the FJ.  But, alas, can' get them here in the US.   :negative:

Very neat modifications.   :good2:

Hello.

The YAMAHA XJR 1300 is only avilable in Europe and Japan, as far as I know. It's a very pretty bike, and for those who don't know it, here it is:

My 5,5x17" rearwheel is from the XJR 1300. My 3,5x17" frontwheel is from a YAMAHA FZR 1000 1987-1988 model. This model has the same frontwheel as the FJ and fit's without any mod's. I changed the frontwheel because the original FJ frontwheel is only 3" wide, and that's not the right dimension for the 120/70 tire.

XJR 1300 Engine's are pretty rare in Europe too. And for the same reason as in US. There are Legend Cars series in UK. netherlands, Finland and Denmark. But with a litlle luck it is possible to buy them at eBay.
